Madison Watercolor Society distinguishes itself by offering members a supportive environment to share new works and receive constructive feedback from skilled, knowledgeable watercolor artists. MWS welcomes intermediate to advanced watercolorists to apply for membership. The organization holds jury reviews each fall, with prospective members evaluated by a Selection Committee based on the following requirements:
- Attend a minimum of three MWS meetings within the 12 months preceding the jury review (attendance must be documented on the sign-in log maintained by the MWS Secretary).
- Complete all application materials required by the Selection Committee Chair.
- Present three to four professionally matted and framed watercolors, created within the past two years, that demonstrate proficiency meeting MWS minimum skill level standards using transparent and opaque watercolor as their primary medium.
